Wisdom Seeker

As we continue our Journey through the book of James, today we will be looking at James 1:5-8.
We are going to be looking at wisdom. Wisdom is something we all need. Wether is concerns our finances, studies, relationships, or a number of other things. In our trails we need to seek wisdom from God on what to do and decisions to make to overcome the trail.

James 1:5-8New International Version (NIV)

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

We need wisdom from God to be molded even more into what he has created us to be.  We are his workmanship (Eph. 2:10)
True wisdom does not come from Dr. Phil or from Oprah, it can't be found in a bottle or a self help book.  True wisdom is something that comes from God.  The book of Proverbs says "Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Proverbs 1:7)
Our life creates a demand for wisdom. Everyone of us will go through times when we have no clue what to do, what choice to make, or how to think about a given situation.   We are in a state of lacking wisdom. The shortage can be highlighted by numerous things. it could be financial, family, relationship, or work problems.
Then some of us are to prideful as humans to say that we lack wisdom.  If you do not face that you lack wisdom, you will never ask for it.  It is the arrogant person who thinks they never need counsel, and the foolish who refuse to admit their need for wisdom.  The truth of the matter is we all need it.
God supplies wisdom to those who as for it.  But you must have faith that He will give it to you.  DO NOT DOUBT.    God is the source of wisdom. He gives it to us generously, He is not stingy with it. God knows we all need wisdom.  When we ask for the wisdom, we must have an attitude of trust, not doubt. It is not a he loves me, he loves me not game you used to play with a flower when you were a kid.
The doubter is like a wave tossed around by the wind. He is unstable and insecure.  The doubter is a double minded person, unstable in all.  The doubter should not expect anything from God.

Abraham Lincoln said "I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go. My wisdom and that all about me seemed insufficient for the day."
Are you going through something that you can not figure out what to do or how to get through it.  Pray about it, ask God for wisdom, He will see you through it. But you must not doubt. He is right beside you and molding you into something beautiful!
